Company Information

Momentus Inc. was founded on November 2017. The company is based in Santa Clara, CA, USA . The number of employees in Momentus Inc. is less than 100. Momentus provides in-space transportation services for satellites, delivering customer satellites to tailored orbits
Momentus was founded by Mikhail Kokorich. It is part of Y Combinator S18 cohort. Here is how its founder(s) describe the company - "Many space applications need small satellite constellations. To provide communication or imaging services for the entire planet, satellites need to be deployed to multiple specific orbits. However, low-cost reusable rockets are too large to deliver small satellites to every orbit. To solve this problem Momentus is providing a shuttle service for satellites. Large rockets deliver our shuttles loaded with satellites into an initial orbit, and then they ride with us to their target orbits. Our satellite shuttles, powered by water plasma engines, makes deployment of small satellites at least two to three times cheaper. We are a team of former JPL, SS/L, SpaceX, Airbus, and Raytheon engineers. Momentus' founder and President Mikhail Kokorich is a physicist and serial entrepreneur. He previously started three space companies and has launched 12 satellites in the last four years."
